This medicine contains the active ingredient nimesulide which is also called a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), or just 'anti-inflammatory'. NSAIDs are used to ease pain, stiffness and inflammation of conditions that affect muscles, bones and joints. Nimesulide is used in children older than 12 years and adults in the treatment of inflammation and pain after injuries of tendons and joints.

Is Nimesulide suitable for me?
Nimesulide is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it
- if you are allergic to nimesulide, other NSAIDs or other ingredients of this medicine
- if you have wounds, damage or infection of the skin
- if you are using other preparations on the skin
In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
Nimesulide interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Nimesulide?
This medicine is available in form of gel.
You should take Nimesulide exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.
- The gel is usually applied 2 to 3 times per day.
Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.

What are Nimesulide side effects?
Like all medicines Nimesulide can cause side effects, including:
Common:
- itching
- redness
Rare:
- local irritation
- rashes and flaking
- discoloration of the skin
