LYSOBACT

This medicine contains the active ingredients lysozyme and cetylpyridinium. Lysozyme has antibacterial property, which it demonstrates by attacking the protective cell walls of bacteria and protecting us from infections. Cetylpyridinium is an antiseptic that kills bacteria and other microorganisms. This medicine is used for:

• Local treatment of acute inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat, such as gingivitis (gum disease), stomatitis (inflammation of the lining of the mouth) and ulcers (small lesions on the mucous membrane of the mouth).
• Additional local treatment of painful, irritated and sore throat and pharynx.
• As recommended by a doctor, before and after surgical procedures (on tonsils, larynx), as well as in injury or abscess, and after tooth extraction.

Is Lysobact suitable for me?

Lysobact is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

• if you are allergic to lysozyme, cetylpyridinium or other ingredients of this medicine
• if you are allergic to egg white
• if it is meant for a child under 6 years

In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:

• are pregnant, breastfeeding
• have fever, purulent sputum, difficulty swallowing

Lysobact interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Lysobact?

This medicine is available in form of compressed lozenge and oromucosal spray.

You should take Lysobact exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. The dose will be prescribed according to your condition and needs.

• Compressed lozenge: The usual dose is 6 to 8 compressed lozenges per day. Compressed lozenges should be slowly dissolved under the tongue.
• Oromucosal spray: For one dose, it is necessary to press the spray dispensing pump five times. The process can be repeated 3-6 times a day, with a minimum interval of 2 hours between dosages.

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.

What are Lysobact side effects?

Like all medicines Lysobact can cause side effects, including:

• local hypersensitivity reactions
• severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock)
• sudden swelling of the face and neck (Quincke's edema)
