NOMIGREN

This medicine contains the active ingredients: 0,75 mg of ergotamine, 25 mg of camylofin, 80 mg of caffeine, 20 mg of mecloxamine and 200 mg of propyphenazone. This medicines primarily reduces the enlargement of blood vessels in the lining of the brain. It is prescribed for the treatment of migraine symptoms and prevention of further progression of migraine attacks. It is also used for the treatment of vascular headaches and cluster headaches.

Is Nomigren suitable for me?

Nomigren is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

• if you are allergic to ergotamine, camylofin, caffeine, mecloxamine,  propyphenazone or other ingredients of this medicine
• if you have a reduced number of leukocytes in the blood (leucopenia)
• if you have increased eye pressure (narrow angle glaucoma)
• if you have a benign enlargement of the prostate
• if you have a mechanical narrowing of the digestive system
• if you have enlarged colon (megacolon)
• if you have  rapid and irregular heart beat (tachycardia)
• if you have a cerebrovascular disorder (severe cerebral sclerosis)
• if you have narrowed blood vessels (vascular stenosis)
• if you have liver and kidney disease
• if you have a poor supply of oxygen to the heart or high blood pressure (angina pectoris or hypertension)
• if you have a hereditary metabolic disease (acute hepatic porphyria)
• if you have a genetic defect caused by glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (manifested as hemolytic anemia)
• if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

In particular, you must tell the doctor if you:

• are pregnant, trying for a baby or breast-feeding
• have a history of liver or kidney problems, heart problems, lung problems, high cholesterol, or diabetes
• have asthma, chronic respiratory diseases, or hay fever
• have a history of blood problems, stroke, anxiety, trouble sleeping

Nomigren interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.

How should I take Nomigren?

This medicine is available in form of a film-coated tablet.

You should take Nomigren exactly as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

• The usual dose for adults is 1-2 tablets at the start of the attack. Dosing is continued, if necessary, with one tablet every half hour up to 4 tablets per attack.
• Do not take more than 10 tablets per week.

Do not use more of it, do not use it more often, or do not use it for a longer time than your doctor instructed. Do not take two doses together if you miss a dose.

What are Nomigren side effects?

Like all medicines Nomigren can cause side effects, including:

• fatigue
• drowsiness
• dry mouth
• decreased sweating
• blurred vision
• redness of the skin
• glaucoma
• rapid heartbeat
• abnormal urination
• nausea and vomiting
• numbness of fingers and toes
• circulatory disorders
• allergic reactions
